YMCA Bournemouth Volunteering

published on

Within the European Union initiative European Solidarity Corps (ESC), YMCA Bournemouth is looking for volunteers for short term opportunities.

Why volunteering?

There are numerous ways in which you can spend your time, whether it is volunteering for one-off tasks or taking regular volunteering duties with the youth, family and relationships, building services, marketing, sports and leisure, supported housing or chaplaincy departments.

Get the chance to give something back to the community, develop new skills or build on existing experience to benefit their careers.

Whatever the motivation, volunteering with YMCA Bournemouth is both challenging and hugely rewarding. Why not give it a try? You will be made very welcome.

Tasks

The volunteer will be based in the YMCA Pre-School for the first 3 weeks. The Pre-School is open from 08:30-16:00 Monday-Friday and mainly supports 2 to 4 year-olds. The volunteer will be supervised at all times, playing with the children, helping them and helping the staff. https://www.ymcabournemouth.org.uk/family/teddys-pre-school/

For her final week of placement, the volunteer will support one of our YMCA Children’s Holiday Clubs, assisting the children and staff with fun physical activities Monday-Friday https://www.ymcabournemouth.org.uk/family/holiday-clubs/ The exact location of the club will be communicated with the volunteer prior to starting the week.

All expenses are covered: accomodation, airplane tickets, food, pocket money

Accommodation is private self-catering rooms in the new shared flats in Bournemouth Town Centre with our other volunteers. The flats are a very short walk from our award-winning beach – and not too far to drive to the Jurassic Coast!

If you would like more information about volunteering, please contact YMCA Bournemouth on the form below.
