The Council of Europe offers two traineeship sessions each year, lasting two to five months in Strasbourg. Traineeships take place on 1st March and 1st October and are remunerated.

Eligible applicants

• Be aged 18+
• Nationals of one of the Council of Europe’s member states;
• Trainees must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent ( a diploma for the first cycle of higher education as defined in the Bologna Declaration) at the time of the application;
• Trainees must have a very good knowledge of one of the Council of Europe’s official languages (English or French). A good knowledge of the other language is helpful.

Grant

Trainees receive a monthly allowance of approximately 635€.

Deadline

• 26 April 2024 (traineeship session October 2024 to February 2025).
• 10 October 2024 (traineeship session March 2025 to July 2025).
