    Network of Towns (CERV)

    The European Commission expects Networks of Towns to reflect on a constructive narrative for Europe and young people. Networks of Towns will give towns and municipalities the possibility to deepen and intensify their cooperation and debate, develop sustainable networks and outline their long-term vision for the future of European integration.

    This year’s priorities are:

    • Promoting awareness and building knowledge of the role of minorities
    • Identifying ways to further strengthen the European dimension and democratic legitimacy of the EU decision-making process
    • Bringing citizens together to discuss actions on the climate and the environment

    Eligible applicants must be

    − legal entities (public or private bodies)

    − established in EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories (OCTs))

    − in non-EU countries associated to the CERV Programme (list of participating countries)

    − lead applicants and co-applicants must be non-profit making towns/municipalities and/or other levels of local authorities or their twinning committees or other non-profit organisations representing local authorities.

    Eligible activities

    – Workshops, seminars, conferences, training activities, expert meetings, webinars, awareness-raising activities, high-visibility events, data gathering and consultation, development, exchanges and dissemination of good practices among public authorities and civil society organisations, development of communication tools and the use of social media.

    – Projects may be based on the outcome of citizens’ consultations and may lead to debates about specific ways to create a more democratic EU, to encourage citizens to re-engage with the EU and help them develop a stronger sense of ownership of the European project.

    – Activities must take place in at least two different eligible countries.

    – Projects should range between 12 and 24 months

    The application must involve at least four applicants (lead applicant (i.e. ‘coordinator’) and at least three co-applicants not being affiliated entity or associated partner) from at least four different eligible countries of which at least two are EU Member States.

    The available call budget is EUR 6.000.000.
