    James Dyson Award

    The James Dyson Award is an international student design competition supporting current university students and recent graduates of engineering and design disciplines who have innovative problem-solving ideas.

     

    Who can apply

    Eligible participants must have graduated within the last 4 years in engineering, product design, or industrial design and must be from the eligible countries.

    Teams can participate in the award, as long as the team leader has studied one of the qualifying subjects and all team members have been enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program within the last 4 years.

     

    Prizes

    • International Winner

    – €35,000 for the winning individual or team and €5,700 for the institution where the winner studies or previously studied 

    • Sustainability winner

    – €35,000 for the winning individual or team

    • International Runners-up:

    – €5,800 to the entrant (or as applicable the team)

    • National Winners from each Eligible Country:

    – €5,800 to the entrant (or as applicable the team) 

    In addition, all the winners will receive a James Dyson Award Certificate.

     

    Application

    Applicants must register and provide proof of their student or recent graduate status in a qualifying subject. Entries should be submitted in English, but additional submissions in other languages are optional.

    They can upload up to five images, each up to 3MB, including one feature image. Additionally, a video can be included, which should be under 3 minutes long and showcase the design’s development process and prototype in action. Videos must be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo prior to submission.
