    Int. Fund for Cultural Diversity

    The purpose of the IFCD is to promote sustainable development and poverty reduction in developing countries that are Parties to the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. The IFCD supports projects that aim to foster the emergence of a dynamic cultural sector, primarily by facilitating the introduction of new cultural policies and cultural industries, or strengthening existing ones.

     

    Eligibility

    The beneficiaries of the Fund are developing, economies in transition and least-developed countries that are Parties to the Convention.

    Therefore, those who are eligible to apply to the Fund are:

    • Public authorities and institutions from eligible countries (developing countries Parties to the 2005 Convention).
    • Non-governmental organisations from eligible countries (developing countries that are Parties to the 2005 Convention), which meet the definition of civil society as mentioned in the Operational guidelines relating to the role and participation of civil society;
    • International non-governmental organisations, registered in countries Parties to the 2005 Convention.

    Projects

    Projects must be implemented and/or benefit only eligible countries (developing countries Parties to the 2005 Convention).

    The project implementation period shall be between 12 and 24 months.

    The projects should start, at the earliest, in April 2025, following the approval of the project by the Intergovernmental Committee in February 2025.

    Budget

    Maximum amount that can be requested from the IFCD is $100,000 for programmes/projects.

    Application should be completed in either English or French.
