ICT 2013 Student ICT research project competition
In the framework of the ICT event in Europe, the European Commission is inviting young students with an innovative ICT-related research project to win the possibility to showcase it in the ‘ICT 2013 – Create, Connect, Grow’ event which will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania on 6-8 November 2013 and it will focus on Horizon 2020 – the EU’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation for 2014-2020.
The projects can be submitted in the following categories, which reflect the orientations of the ICT research in the next European research framework programme, Horizon 2020:
- New components and systems, low-power computing;
- Networking technologies, cloud computing;
- Smart personal environments, robotics;
- Technologies for content and information (new interfaces, big data, tools for creative content and media);
- ICT for societal challenges (health, security, sustainability, education, inclusion);
- Digital platforms and tools for collaboration;
- Other innovative ICT research projects.
Criteria
– Entries can be submitted individually or in small groups (max 5 students).
– A student submitting a project should be officially registered as a student in an EU educational institution at the time of submission. If the submission is made by a team, the project leader must be a student at an EU university.The European Commission’s DG for Communications Networks, Content and Technology will select 8 finalists, which will demonstrate their projects at the ICT 2013 event in Vilnius.
Only three winners will be selected and awarded.Deadline to submit entries: was 3 July 2013 at 16:00 CET.
