    Creative Encounters: Cultural Partnerships between Asia and Europe

    Creative Encounters:Cultural Partnerships between Asia and Europe is a new initiative that aims to support collaborative artistic projects in the framework of the Asia-Europe dialogue. Artists, cultural workers, arts organisations and arts networks of Asia and Europe are invited to apply. The cultivation of sustainable partnerships between Asian and European arts organisations is a key objective of this programme.

    Arts Network Asia (ANA) and the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), in collaboration with the European network Trans Europe Halles (TEH), will jointly promote this initiative for projects taking place between 1 April and 30 November 2016.

    Theme:
    Proposals should explore issues of cultural mobility and community engagement.

    Selection criteria
    – Artistic/creative projects that facilitates collaboration, co-productions, dialogue and exchanges between Asia and Europe
    – Projects in any discipline of contemporary arts (e.g. performing arts, visual arts, literary arts, film, new media) or cross-disciplinary projects
    – Projects focusing on capacity building for artists and cultural professionals
    – Projects leading to long-term partnerships and sustainable collaborations
    – The content should reflect the cultural diversity of Asia and Europe with the aim of showing different perspectives from the two regions
    – Generate an artistic outcome with possible public components (e.g. performances, exhibitions)
    – Proposed jointly by a minimum of 2 partners in Asia and Europe, one partner from each region
    – Online projects have to be managed from ASEM countries
    – Projects should take place in ASEM countries.

    ASEM now brings together 51 member states (Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Laos, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, Vietnam) plus the European Commission and the ASEAN Secretariat.

    Budget
    The support for each project will be up to SGD 25,000 (approximately 16.459 euros). Selected projects are, however, expected to seek further support or sponsorship.

    Deadline: 15 August 2015 at 6.00pm (Singapore time).
