    Youth Sounding Board

    The European Commission is inviting young people between 18 to 30 years old, from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, the Pacific and Latin America, and the Caribbean, as well as from Europe to join the Youth Sounding Board for International Partnerships and share their ideas in EU external action and international cooperation.

    What is it

    • The Youth Sounding Board (YSB) is a space for young people to advise the Commissioner and the Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) on youth participation and empowerment in EU external action on topics regarding environment and political action.

    The 25 YSB members will:

    • be involved in the implementation and dissemination of the EU Youth Action Plan
    • discuss and contribute to ad-hoc issues or requests  build links with similar structures and existing youth initiatives at international, regional, and country levels, both in the EU and in the partner countries
    • take part in capacity-building activities in relation to their mandate.

    Eligible participants should 

    • be between the age of 18-30 (by 26 April 2023);
    • be available to devote at least 25 days per year to the YSB
    • have a good command of English;
    • hold the nationality of or be a resident in one of the eligible countries (from Africa, Asia, the Pacific, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Europe).

    Candidates can apply individually or be nominated by an organisation.

     

    Conditions

    The Youth Sounding Board members will commit for two years, for about 25 days a year.

    They will have at least three meetings per year, both in person in Brussels and virtually.

    This is an unpaid mandate. However, travel and other related expenses will be covered.
