    Juvenes Translatores contest

    The European Commission is organising an online translation contest to give secondary school students a first-hand experience of what it is like to be a translator.

     

    Contest Details:

    • Students must be 17 years old.
    • Students choose their starting and target languages from the EU official languages.
    • Test Date: 28 November 28 2024, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM CET.
    • Test Location: Schools’ premises.
    • Translations must be saved and submitted on the contest platform.

     

    School Requirements:

    • Located in an EU country.
    • Recognised by educational authorities.
    • Have necessary IT equipment.
    • Select 2-5 students born in 2007.
    • Selected schools must register on the contest platform by 19 November 2024, 12 PM CET

     

    Prize

    The best translator from each EU country will be invited to Brussels for an awards ceremony.

    Travel and accommodation costs will be covered for one winner, one teacher, and one accompanying adult per country.

      

    How

    Entrants can register on the Contest Platform until 14 October 2024 at 12.00 midday CET.

    Schools will be selected randomly.

    The list of selected schools will be published here by the end of October.
