European Movement Training Academy, Brussels

Tailor-made training course on the EU institutions working addressed to university students from all countries, wanting to pursue a career in EU affairs. The programme includes visits to the Institutions, meetings with professionals from lobby organisations, NGOs, youth organisations, EU Institutions, EU political parties. By the end of the week, students will have a good overview of the different possibilities open to them.

Entrepreneurship Summer School

The course is addressed to young people interested in establishing their own business and willing to get inspired and learn more from experienced and successful entrepreneurs. The course will be done in an innovative way, without teachers, lecture style courses, or power point presentations, but real entrepreneurs sharing their experience with students giving them an inside view of entrepreneurship.Deadlines to apply are: 7th May, 21st May and 13th June 2012.

International Model United Nations, Vienna, Austria

Youth Video Festival 2012

Young people from 9 to 25 years of age worldwide are invited to submit short videos of one to five minutes and share their thoughts, experiences, opinions, questions and suggestions about migration and diversity. Videos must have been completed after January 2010 and, if not in English, must have English subtitles.

Call for young bloggers and online activists to take action against discrimination

The Council of Europe Youth Department is inviting all young bloggers and online activists concerned by human rights violations,  discrimination and racism to apply for the training course taking place between May and December 2012, comprising a  seminar between 20-27 May 2012 in the European Youth Centre Budapest as a first stage in their involvement in a long term campaign against racism, xenophobia and discrimination.

Student Peace Prize 2013

The prize is awarded to a student or a student organisation that has made a particular effort to promote peace, democracy and human rights in a non-violent way. The winner will receive the prize during the International Student Festival in Trondheim (ISFiT) in February 2013.

A Snapshot of Democracy – photo contest

The World Youth Movement for Democracy has launched the second Global Photo Contest! The aim of the contest is to capture the ways in which democracy can be reflected in our daily lives, and create images that tell stories about how people see, and where people find, democracy.Young people, from 18 to 35 years old, from all around the world are invited to join the contest and send their photographs.

Electric December 2012

European young people under 21 years of age, who made a short film this year already or are thinking of making one, now have the chance to showcase their talent to the rest of Europe. The short films  (in English or providing English subtitles)   should be less than 5 minutes long, completed after September 2011, of any productions techniques. The deadline for submissions is 28 September 2012.
