    UNAOC - Education First Summer School

    The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) in collaboration with Education First (EF) are organising the second UNAOC-EF Summer School, taking place in Tarrytown, NY, USA, from 13 to 20 June 2015.

    Young people from 18 to 35 years old, from all over the world, are invited to join the event and  engage for a week in a dialogue on how to better understand diversity, manage and promote it, and how to leverage differences in identity to shape a world that is healthier, safer, more peaceful and inclusive.

    The main objectives of the UNAOC-EF Summer School are to:

    • contribute to the empowerment of young people by enhancing their intercultural skills and competences;
    • strengthen young people’s capacity to get involved in the preparation and implementation of cooperative action across borders;
    • facilitate networking and exchanges between young people; and
    • develop a network of alumni and make it an important platform for joint action to help address a global challenge.

      Criteria
      Applicants must:
      – be between 18 and 35 years old;
      – be linked to an organisation or a network (e.g. youth council, youth NGO, not-profit organization, youth-led organisation, community organisation, faith-based organisation, youth network or platform, college, university), or be a social entrepreneur, blogger, intern or volunteer;
      – hold a valid passport valid;
      – possess upper-intermediate English proficiency.

      Selected participants will be provided with flight, accommodation, meals and full event access.
