    Internships at the World Bank

    The World Bank offers internships to young people interested to learn more about the economic and social issues that affect people’s lives around the world. The programme offers opportunities for study and work that provide hands-on experience.

     

    The Bank Internship Programme offers graduate students an opportunity to improve their skills as well as the experience of working in an international environment.

     

    Eligibility

    • Students who are nationals of the Bank’s member countries or countries of operations.
    • Candidates must possess an undergraduate degree and be already enrolled in a full-time graduate study programme (pursuing a Master’s degree or Ph.D. with plans to return to school in a full-time capacity).
    • Fluency in English

    This programme seeks candidates in: economics, finance, human resource development (public health, education, nutrition, population), social science (anthropology, sociology), agriculture, environment, private sector development, as well as other related fields.

    Grants

    The Bank pays an hourly salary to all interns and, where applicable, provides an allowance towards travel expenses. Interns are responsible for their own living accommodations. Most positions are located in Washington, DC, with a minimum duration of 4 weeks.

    Deadline:

    – Summer (May-September) – the application period for the Summer Program is 2 January – 5 February each year.
