Youth Network Event
The European Parliament Youth Outreach Unit is organising the youth network event on 22-23 June 2022 at the European Parliament in Brussels (Belgium) under the theme « Taking it in our hands: from our ideas to our impact ».
At each edition of the European Youth Event ideas from young people are collected in a report which is then distributed to all MEPs, for follow-up. Young people themselves are not involved in this follow-up and do not participate in all stages of the process and they feel frustrated both because they are not involved and also because our efforts for follow-up are not always visible.
- How can we together improve the follow up of ideas – what could participants do and what could the EP do? We want to empower the young people to act.
- How can we make sure that a more diverse audience (especially the hard to reach groups ) of young people get invited to and involved in the EYE?
The event will be held at the European Parliament and Committee of Regions, Brussels, Belgium.
The programme of the event is currently under preparation.
The draft outline is as follows:
– 22 June – arrivals in the morning. Afternoon – visit of the Parliament Hemicycle and presentation on how the Parliament works. Networking drink in the evening;
– 23 June – working groups 09.00 to 18.00;
– 24 June – departure.
The language of the event is English.
Who can participate
The European Parliament will select 40 young people representing youth organisations from all EU Member States.
Selected participants’ accommodation and travel will be arranged and covered by the organisers.
Lunch will be provided on 23 June, as well as a networking drink (most probably on the evening of 22 June).
Nota bene: The European Parliament will only select staff (paid or volunteers) of youth organisations, not NGOs that happen to have some projects aimed at youth for instance, nor other civil society organisations, schools etc.
Deadline to apply: 15 May 2022, 23:00 CET.
