Young Energy Ambassadors

Launched by the European Commission, the Young Energy Ambassadors (YEA) programme offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic group of young professionals for a year-long mandate. Participants will engage in EU policymaking on energy, collaborate with policy experts, deepen their knowledge of energy topics, and share policy messages within their communities.

Who can apply

  • Young people aged 18 to 35 (born between 14 February 1990 and 16 February 2008, as of the application closing date).
  • Citizens of an EU country, the European Economic Area or Ukraine.
  • Actively involved in the energy sector in Europe through studies, volunteering, professional work, or personal initiatives.
  • Committed to participating in the one-year mandate from June 2026 to June 2027.

Programme

Selected ambassadors will:

  • Attend and actively participate in the European Sustainable Energy Week (9–11 June 2026) in Brussels (expenses covered).
  • Take part in additional activities such as policy dialogues, webinars, outreach initiatives, and a mentorship scheme throughout their mandate.
