    World Heritage Volunteers Projects

    The UNESCO World Heritage Centre is currently seeking participation from youth organisations, NGOs, institutions, and public authorities interested in engaging young individuals in the conservation of World Heritage sites.

    This involvement is to be facilitated through the organisation of action camps scheduled for 2024. These camps are designed to promote the preservation of World Heritage sites by actively involving youth in the process.

     

    Who can apply

    Organisations legally registered as a public or private organisation or institution in the country where the project takes place.

     

    Eligible projects should

    – be organised in immediate connection to a property inscribed on the World Heritage List or a site inscribed on a Tentative List

    – have a minimum 10-day duration and include the same group of people for a minimum 10-day duration, consecutive or not; 

    – start after 1 May and end by 15 November 2024; 

    – include awareness activities, practical hands-on activities, and skills related to World Heritage sites where the action camp will be conducted.

     

    Funding

    The World Heritage Volunteers (WHV) 2024 Campaign will also provide micro-grants, from a minimum of 100 USD to a maximum of 300 USD per project, to assist with basic project implementation.
