What is the Foundation Programme?
Our full-time Foundation Programme is unique to the UK and a gateway for school and college leavers living in London or the South East into the prestigious Goldsmiths’ Company Apprenticeship Scheme, job or further or higher education course. It provides you and other young people with the core skills to begin working in jewellery, silversmithing and the allied crafts.
As part of a small group of ten, you will spend a full year being taught by leading craftspeople in modern and fully-equipped workshops at the Goldsmiths’ Centre in London. The course covers traditional techniques, such as fine jewellery making, silversmithing and stone setting; alongside contemporary processes such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Full-time, 9 month course
Course dates: Mon 9 September 2019 – Fri 26 June 2020 (with breaks for Christmas and Easter)
Application deadline: Sun 5 May 2019
Course fee: Free for those who successfully apply
Qualification: City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Jewellery Manufacturing, additional units in Employability Skills, the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Craft Skills
