Pilot Project: Emergency sport actions for youth
This pilot project aims to promote the integration of children and young people impacted by humanitarian crises and large-scale migration resulting from conflicts.
Objectives
- promote community integration of children and young people affected by humanitarian crisis such as war in the hosting communities;
- improve mental well-being and help overcoming trauma of such children and young people through sport;
- facilitate adaptation and create bonds with the hosting communities;
- inspire other sport clubs to set up support programmes by publishing and promoting experiences and good practices.
Who can apply
Legal entities (public or private bodies) active in the field of sport and established in EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories (OCTs)).
Eligible activities
Activities, games and sports must be designed in order to meet specific social and psychosocial goals. They need to be age appropriate, culturally appropriate and be considered in respect to the gender roles in the community.
Activities should be organised at the local, grassroots level, through grassroots sports clubs, involving only one country,
as it is easier to respond to integration needs by implementing activities at the local level.
Duration: 12 and 18 months.
Budget
The total budget is EUR 1 920 000.
Around 5-7 projects will be funded.
The maximum grant amount is EUR 400 000 per project.
