EYE Online Translation Competition

Do you speak French, German, English or Spanish? Join the Translation Competition during the EYE Online Event on 21 May 2020.
You can choose to translate from up to four different source languages (English, French, German, Spanish) into any of the other official EU languages.


To give you the opportunity to participate in more than one session (and translate from more than one source language) there will be four different sessions on different days:

  • Translating from French: 21 May 2020, 11.00 – 12.00 (CEST)
  • Translating from German: 22 May 2020, 11.00 – 12.00 (CEST)
  • Translating from English: 23 May 2020, 11.00 – 12.00 (CEST)
  • Translating from Spanish: 24 May 2020, 11.00 – 12.00 (CEST)

Please note that the starting time for each session is 11am Brussels, BELGIUM Time (CEST, GMT +2).


How to participate
Fill in the form and choose the source language(s) that you want translate from.
Once you’re registered for each session you chose, you will receive a confirmation email.
You can sign-up for each session until 1 hour before the start of the session.
You will receive the source text via email (the email you used to sign-up!) at the start time specified above.
Make sure to be online and check your email on Day X!
You’ll have 60 minutes (1h) to translate the text into one of the 24 EU languages.


Submi your translation
Make sure to submit your translation within the 60 minute limit and in Microsoft Word format.
Simply reply to the e-mail you received (dgtrad.multilingualism@europarl.europa.eu) with your translated masterpiece in attachment.

The best and most creative contributions will be rewarded with a subscription to AUDIBLE, a platform to listen to all your favourite audiobooks.
One winner will be selected from each session! The four winners will be contacted by 15th June 2020.
