eu-LISA Security Unit Internship

The European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice  (eu-LISA) offers paid internships for recent university graduates who are at the beginning of their professional career.
Internships for university graduates are intended to enable interns to supplement their knowledge with EU policies, activities and procedures as well as those of eu-LISA.

Interns will gain EU knowledge and insight into the processes and policies of eu-LISA but also practical experience with an opportunity to play a part in eu-LISA’s day-to-day business and the opportunity to put their academic theory into practice.


Who can apply?

The Agency welcomes applications from candidates with a background relating to any of the activities of the Agency.
Applicants must be nationals of one of the EU Member States or Schengen Associated Countries have at least three years (six semesters) of higher education course (university education or studies equivalent to university) or the relevant degree (minimum a Bachelor or its equivalent) and C1 English knowledge written and verbal. Applicants must also have knowledge of Microsoft Office and of the  information security and/or business continuity international policies/standards or the EU rules and regulations in this field.

Beside, applicants must have a General understanding of the EU system and EU institutions and bodies along with understanding of IT systems and issues pertaining to personal data protection and the ability to communicate in French, (B1 level).


Tasks and conditions
The internship is expected to start on 1st September 2019 and to last for 6 months, with a possibility of extension up to total 12 months. It is remunerated with  a monthly maintenance grant, which is 1/3 of the basic gross remuneration received by an official at the grade AD5/1 and already weighted by the correction coefficient (for Tallinn, Estonia 82.2%).
The intern will be under the supervision of the Data Protection Officer, the Intern is expected to perform mainly administrative tasks in the data protection area of eu-LISA and to provide support to the Data Protection Officer.
