UNESCO and the Goi Peace Foundation have launched the International Essay Contest for Young People 2013.
The theme for this year’s contest is “The Power of Culture to Create a Better Future”.
Every part of the world has its own culture. What aspects of the culture in your country or region do you take pride in, and how can youth make the most of them to create a better future?
Young people from around the world, up to 25 years old (as of June 30, 2013), are invited to submit their ideas and express their visions.
Essays must be 700 words or less, original and unpublished and typed or printed in English, French, Spanish or German or 1600 characters or less in Japanese.
The deadline for entry is 30 June 2013.
First prize winners will receive a cash award and a trip to Japan scheduled for November 2013.
