The European Commission has launched the Juvenes Translatores 2017, the translation contest for schools

The competition is designed to give 17-year-olds (born in 2000) from schools throughout Europe first-hand experience of what it is like to be a translator.
Young students will be given the opportunity to take part in a translation test that will take place on the same day in all EU countries: 23rd November 2017.
Pupils will be able to decide which of the European Union’s official languages they want to translate to and from.

Schools across Europe are invited to register by 20th October 2017, 12.00 midday (Brussels time).

The awards ceremony will take place in Brussels, Belgium, in Spring 2018.
